Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRUBY MARGARET BUDDICK (nee BRIER) May 13, 1921 - January 25, 2012 Peacefully on Wednesday, January 25, with family by her side, Ruby Buddick passed away at The Convalescent Home of Winnipeg. Ruby was predeceased by her loving husband George Buddick in 1992, parents David and Catherine Brier, sister Dolly, brother Jim, brothers-in-law Pete, Steve, Tom, Herb, Peter, Louie; sisters-in-law Nettie and Marion and dear friends Lillian and Elaine. Left to cherish her memory are sons, George Jr. and Gerald Thomas, daughters Marlene (Pall), Carol (John) and Ellie. Her cherished grandchildren Sandra (Martin), Kristopher, Karina and their Mother Georgina, Tara (Ben), Josh (Karen); Kelly, Lindsay and their Mother Leslie. Dearest great-grandchildren Brady, Sydney and Ella Rose. Sisters Ann, Betty and sister-in-law Ida, also many dear nieces, nephews and their families. Ruby was born in Selkirk, Manitoba, May 13, 1921, the oldest of four children. Mother started working at the very early age of 14, helping her Mother who was the housekeeper for Sheriff Inkster of Winnipeg. As a young woman, Mother was known for her quick and ready smile and her graceful talents on the dance floor which captured the eye and heart of a very dashing George Buddick. Mother and Dad were married July 1, 1939 and enjoyed 53 years of marriage and parenting five children. During these years Mom, a devoted wife and mother, shared her gift of time and talent at home, school, church and community. Family was always her focus and Mom felt blessed and delighted as her family expanded through marriage, grandchildren and great-grand-children. Mom treasured her family and supported each family member in a special way. Our dear Mother/Grandmother and best friend always cared for us offering words of encouragement, hugs and always love. Our hearts are filled with love and gratitude to our Parish family St. George's, Crescentwood for their prayers, strength and compassion and to our many friends who day by day shared their concern and support. Thank You. Mother's home for the past 12 years has been The Convalescent Home of Winnipeg. Here, Mother's family expanded to include so many more whom she loved, and who loved and cared for Mom in return. As a family we are grateful to all our friends at the Home for their kind and loving care, providing Mom with joy and gladness every day, until the perfect end. Flowers are gratefully declined, if friends so desire donations may be made to either: The Convalescent Home of Winnipeg, 276 Hugo Street North, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3M 2N6 or St. George's Memorial Fund, 168 Wilton Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3M 3C3. So sorry to hear of your loss. You Girls were so attentive to your mother. Although Elaine, a Convalescent Home client, and a friend of Ruby's, passed April of 2011, she never stopped asking about "Ruby" and wondering how she was doing since she had switched living locations. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this most difficult time. - Posted by: DebbieSutton (Acquaintance through my sister Elaine Armstrong) on: Jan 28, 2013

Knowing Ruby and her family was such an honour. Ruby's daughters, in-laws and grandchildren added so much love to Ruby's life during her time at The Convalescent Home. Every event was celebrated and every moment cherished. The residents and staff feel the loss of Ruby's passing as we were honoured to care for Ruby, and be included in such amazing kindness and generosity of her loving family. We wish the family peace and warm memories. - Posted by: Sharon Wilms (Chief Executive Officer of The Convalescent Home of Winnipeg) on: Feb 16, 2012
