HELEN LORRAINE SNIKERIS (KASHUBA)
Date of Passing: Jan 31, 2012
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHELEN LORRAINE SNIKERIS (KASHUBA) On January 31, 2012 Lori passed from our world to rejoin her Mother and Father. She is survived by her loving daughters Krista and Kayla, her husband Mikelis, her brother Robert Kashuba and family, cousin Sylvia Kasuba, her special Aunt Tina, plus many more relatives and friends. Lori was predeceased by her parents Helen and Frank Kashuba. Lori's home had an open door for friends and family. The coffee pot was always on and homemade dainties and snacks were aplenty. Her dry humour kept you captivated with tales of life and experience and how she always poked fun at herself. Lori's attempts at home renovations, yard work and gardening led to many interesting and imaginative results and of course new stories. A short visit always turned into hours of good times. Knowing her time was brief, Lori made a short bucket list before her cancer set her free. Her passion every year was Christmas and its traditions - so this year it was greater than ever - no one wanted to leave. She wanted one more birthday; again we had a good one and celebrated her way. But number one on her list would be the happiness and success of her daughters. Krista, Kayla hold her advice close to your hearts, she sees your potential and her love will still guide you. Make her proud and she will smile. Lori wished to extend a special thank you and goodbye to Aunt Tina, Linda and Juri Snikeris and their daughters Nicole and Natasha - they know why. Flowers are gratefully declined. Per Lori's wish donations may be made to the Firefighters Burn Fund, Children's Burn Unit, Children's Hospital. A memorial gathering will be held Saturday, February 4, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg. We both express sincerest sympanthies to Mike, the girls, and extended families. We remember Lori's smile and humour. We will always remember the good times spent out at Twin Beaches, Lake Manitoba. Our prayers are with you in this diffucult time. God Bless, Zaiga & Bhoag - Posted by: Zaiga Keleris/Bhoag Singh (friends) on: Feb 04, 2012

I remember way back in the day when Mike met Lorraine where I worked and was smitten with her immediately. It was a romantic courtship and Lorraine was so happy. I was not close with Lorraine but she was my sister's best friend and she made an impact on my life with her quick wit, sense of humour and her loyalty to her family and friends. This treasured lady will be missed. - Posted by: Heather Wheeler (friend) on: Feb 04, 2012

Sadly living a long distance apart we had little time together. My first visit was impressed with coffee and lots of dainties. Each visit enjoying this. I clearly remember Mikelis calling to tell me the joy of delivering twin girls. Your legend lives on. - Posted by: Rita Blosmanis (Cousin to Mikelis) on: Feb 03, 2012
