BLAINE SENICK January 8, 1962 - February 2, 2012 With dignity and serenity, Blaine passed away at Teulon Hunter Memorial Hospital on February 2, 2012, at the age of 50. Blaine is survived by his wife Susan; their children, Rhea (Colten), Denise (Dusty), Nathan (Nicole); his precious grandchildren, Logan, Kingston, Lauren and Vander; his ever loving mother Bertha; his sister Janice (Ashraf) and their children, Leyla and Jamal; sister Darlene (Joe) and their daughter Danica; sister-in-law Noreen; brother-in-law David (Trish); brother-in-law Ted (Sherry), and many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles who adored him. He was predeceased by his father Mervyn in 2001, his mother-in-law Eleanor in 2002, and his father-in-law Henry in 2002. Blaine was born in Winnipeg on January 8, 1962 and raised on a farm just outside of Teulon. Blaine graduated from Teulon Collegiate in 1980 and soon found a job apprenticing with carpentry. He did this for five years and then in August of 1985 he had the greatest pleasure of going to Australia under a farm exchange program. For seven months he worked on a dairy farm with his host family and then had the chance to travel across Australia and then on to New Zealand before returning home to his family. In 1987 he met Susan and along with her children, Nathan and Denise, they purchased their first home to move into as a family. In 1992 Blaine and Susan were married and decided they needed to add another member to their household and in 1995 their daughter Rhea was born; another joy to his life. Together with Nathan, Denise and Rhea, he taught them what he had learned; be honest, work hard and love your family. In 2007 he was very proud to be part of Denise and Dusty's wedding, and 2010 again a big part of Nathan and Nicole's wedding. He took all this in stride and began to see that the more we added to our family, the more love that went around. Our family was then expanded by four beautiful grandchildren. Blaine was very proud of them and would frequently stop in to check on them when possible. He loved his ever growing family with all his heart and was never afraid to let them know that. Blaine was the best husband, father and grandfather there could be and surely will be missed in our lives. A celebration of Blaine's life will be held at the Teulon Rockwood Centennial Hall in Teulon on Monday, February 6, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. A private family interment will be held at a later date. We cannot express enough how thankful we are to our friends and family for the overwhelming support over this past year. Without this we would not have made it through. Thank you to Dr. Scwajcer at CancerCare, GD6 staff at Health Sciences Centre, Teulon Hospital for their tremendous and compassionate care for which this journey was made a little easier. Dr. Loudon, thank you for being the kind and professional man that you are, your job is not easy and we are deeply in your debt for your hard work and support. It is truly a blessing to have a community like this and Blaine wanted each and every one of you to know that he has great respect for all you have done to help the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Blaine's memory can be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 or to Teulon Hunter Memorial Hospital, Box 89, Teulon, MB, R0C 3B0. We love you and miss you, but we will see you again my love! MACKENZIE FUNERAL CHAPEL TEULON (204) 467-2525 mackhome@mts.net

Condolences & Memories (17 entries)

  • My wife D'Arcy met Blaine in the day/night unit where they were being treated. Blaine quickly used to his sense of humour to allay D'Arcy's fears. One day while we were in the unit Blaine asked the nurse for an iPad. He was forever looking for commodities and stock numbers during treatment The nurse was gone forever and Blaine was pretending to be getting frustrated when she suddenly returned with a surgical eye pad. "wow that was hard to fine on this floor I had search all over." she said. Blaine smiled and said slowly, iPad not eye pad, but in a really gentle way. Then we all laughed unit we were crying. Blaine was a class act and a very funny guy. Thank you for making my wife and I comfortable Blaine. - Posted by: Brett (acquaintance) on: Jun 23, 2015
