NICHOLAS WALTER (WALLY) CHERSKI March 23, 1930 - January 31, 2012 Passed away with his family at his side, at Seven Oaks Hospital, Winnipeg. Dad leaves to mourn June, his wife of 59 years; his daughter Mary-Anne (Brian) Long, grandchildren Ian (Tracey), and Michelle (Dale), and his four great-grandchildren, Dorian, Matthew, Christian and Karli; his son Brian (Janet) and his granddaughter Dana (Rob) and Frankie; his daughter Cathy (Frank) Masek, and his grandchildren Michael (Megan), Emily (Kurt) and Sara (Nathan). He is also survived by his sister Bernice Mason of Vancouver, his brother Myron (Pat) Baska, and many nieces and nephews. Dad was predeceased by his father, Alex, his mother, Mary, and his brother Leonard. Dad's career with M.T.S. spanned 40 years to the day. His passions were many and varied and included summers at the lake at Camp Neustadt, winters in Mesa, golfing, curling and bowling. He sat on the Board of Directors of the Credit Union Stabilization Fund, Telephone Pioneers of America, the TransCanada Curling Association and many others. A celebration of Dad's life will be held Monday, February 6 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens, 4477 Main St., West St. Paul. The family would like to thank Dr. Tatiana Panaskevich, and the nurses and staff of Unit 6, 5th Floor Seven Oaks Hospital. Your compassionate care will never be forgotten.
