CHARLES DAVID MURPHY Suddenly, on January 29, 2012, Charles (Chuck) David Murphy passed away at the age of 75. Chuck was predeceased by his wife, Joyce, his parents, Patrick and Isabel Murphy, and his brother Ed. He is survived by his daughter Carol (Kevin), sons Mike (Trish) and Shawn, grandchildren Aaron, John, and Abigail, family pets Kato and Winki, as well as extended family. Chuck was born in Winnipeg on December 29, 1936 and grew up in St. James. He was very athletic in his youth and competed in numerous sports including curling, lacrosse and field hockey. He started his career at Searle Grain where he met his wife, Joyce and they married in 1964. After starting their family, they moved to Jenpeg, Manitoba in 1972 where Chuck worked as a public accountant for Genstar at the Hydro Generating Station. He enjoyed the outdoors and the family had many fun adventures in Jenpeg fishing, camping and snowmobiling. When the family returned to Winnipeg in 1978, Chuck continued his employment with Genstar and traveled extensively. Later on, he accepted accounting positions in Prince Rupert, Pine Falls and Bakers Lake, Nunavut. Chuck took early retirement in 1994 and returned home to Joyce for good. After Joyce passed away in 2010, he continued to devote himself to his pets, children, grandchildren and friends. Chuck enjoyed fishing, a good game of cards, played pool and always made time for a good cigar. As an investment security trader, he continued to actively trade in the investment market up to the time of his death. Cremation has taken place and in accordance with Chuck's wishes, a private memorial service will be held.
