ROY MARTIN Peacefully on Wednesday, February 1, 2012, after his 90th birthday party, with his family by his side, Roy Martin passed away at East Gate Lodge Personal Care Home. Roy is survived by his wife of 56 years Elva; his children Diane (Elmer), David (Sandy) and Brenda (Andy). Dad enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren Adam, Quinn and Cole who were the light of his life. Dad had a great love for animals and had a special spot for his faithful dog Corky. Together with Elva, Roy raised his three children on the farm in Lowland where many happy family memories were made. Dad also worked for the Town of Pinawa until retirement. In later years, Mom and Dad moved to Beausejour to be near their children and grandchildren. Dad enjoyed playing cards at the Stead Community Centre. He was an active member of the Brokenhead Community Centre. He also loved family camping and fishing trips. On behalf of Dad, the family wishes to thank the staff at the Rose Unit of East Gate Lodge for the loving care given to Dad. You were truly his Angels. Cremation has taken place and a private interment will take place at a later date. Donations can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 9Z9 or a charity of your choice.
