DAVID PARKER MURPHY August 19, 1951 - February 4, 2012 Suddenly on Saturday, February 4, 2012, David passed away. David will be sadly missed by his wife Peggy, his children Matthew (Emily), Colleen (Derek), and Jonathan (Krystal), his brothers and sisters Gary (Lee), Don (Dee), Lynne, Nancy (Rodney), and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Vivian and Raymond. David was born and raised in St. Laurent, Quebec. He worked for CP Rail for 32 years. He married the love of his life, Peg, in 1980 and they had three beautiful children together. They lived in Montreal, Toronto and eventually settled in Winnipeg in 1996. David enjoyed being with family. He loved coaching, watching and playing sports, particularly football and hockey. He was an avid Pittsburgh Penguins, Pirates and Steelers fan. He was looking forward to watching this year's Superbowl. He also loved attending Jets games with his family as a Season Ticket holder. He will be dearly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Special Olympics Manitoba Foundation, 304-145 Pacific Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3B 2Z6. Prayers will be held on Wednesday, February 8 at 7:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, February 9 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church, 4588 Roblin Blvd. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website.   • David's sister Nancy was one of my best friends. I spent a lot of time at their house growing up in Montreal. David was a quiet type of guy, but always nice to us. We also went to St. Laurent High together. David & Nancy's Mum was a wonderful teacher and actually taught my brother (deceased).
