EDNA MARGARET BROOK Our dearly beloved Edna Margaret Brook closed her eyes for the last time in the afternoon of Friday, January 27, 2012. Edna was resting comfortably in her room at the St. Adolphe Personal Care Home where she had resided, having every need fulfilled for the past four years by the caring and attentive staff. Edna was predeceased by her loving husband, Edward Mansel Brook in October 1985. Born July 24, 1916, in Dauphin, Manitoba. Edna and her lifetime, close friend Elaine, as teenagers, travelled together to Winnipeg seeking the adventures of life in the city versus that on the farm. Edna enjoyed her more than 25 years of employment with the T. Eaton Company who honoured Edna with a Retirement Party held July 27, 1981, in recognition of her service as Supervisory Hostess in Eaton's Grill Dining Room. Should friends so desire, please consider a donation to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3, phone (204) 982-2021. Edna and her ever remembered, loving Mini Schnauzers, Kelly and Jocko, would appreciate your thoughtfulness. A private interment will take place. How sweet to sleep where all is peace. Where sorrow cannot touch the breast. Where all life's idle throbbings cease and pain is put to rest. Chapel Lawn www.chapellawn.mb.ca 885-9715

Today we are thinking of Aunt Edna. She showed us how to enjoy our senior years. Her and Ed enjoyed travelling. Then she took good care of Ed. The love between them was obvious. Later, she travelled to Saskatchewan, Alberta and B.C. for any special event/celebration and she kept in touch with family. We had such fun with her in Dauphin, in Edmonton, in Breton and in Winnipeg. Yes we think of her often and are grateful to her for showing us how to enjoy life. We can see you now with Ed and with your sisters and brothers. We have you in our prayers. - Posted by: Donald Osborne and Rita DeLongchamp-Osborne (Nephew (son of Lillian Osborne)) on: Feb 14, 2012

We visited with Edna for the last time today. She looked beautiful and at Peace as she awaited Ed's loving embrace. Hopefully the memory of this day fades and be replaced with happy experiences we shared while Edna was in her Fontaine home surrounded by always helpful and attentive neighbours. - Posted by: Audree & Ron Kelly () on: Feb 11, 2012

I remember with fondness when Uncle Ed and Aunt Edna visited us in Dauphin. Uncle Ed always brought us a grocery bag of Cadbury Chocolates. I also remember Aunt Edna coming to visit us alone with Uncle Ed passed on. She was always up early, showered, towel hung on the clothes line outside before she took 20 minute power walk. Her love for her dogs and her gentle and humorous ways with people will be remembered forever. Aunt Edna, you are now with Uncle Ed, Grama Osborne, my dad Joe, and your bowses of the bowses. I send my love to you and am sorry we only heard of your passing so late. You will be missed! Love your great niece, Debbie - Posted by: Debbie McMunn nee Drebnisky (Joe and Thelma) (great niece) on: Feb 08, 2012

Dear Aunty Edna, You will be missed. All the memories we have of you will not be forgotten, the spring break lunches at the grill room, the pumpkin cookies at halloween, you always made Keri and I feel like special young ladies. And how you cared for uncle Ed. Please give him a hug for me. You both will always live on in my heart. love robyn - Posted by: Robyn Kaskow-MacMartin (friend) on: Feb 07, 2012
