Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHERBERT WILHELM WITT With great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather on February 6, 2012. Papa was born April 16, 1928 in Lewitten, Ostpreusen. He leaves to mourn his wife of 62 years, Edith; four children, Wendy (Harry), Arthur, Erika, Heidi (Lee); seven grandchildren, Craig (Kathy), Darcie (Bryan), Shawn, Dawn (Jessie), Virginia (Mike), Brandon and Tyler; two great-grandchildren, Reegan and Joshua. Papa is also survived by one sister Marie. He was predeceased by his parents Franz and Anna Witt. He was also predeceased by brother Kurt and sisters Auguste and Gertrude, all of Germany. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. Although a quiet man, he was the centre of our family gatherings. He will always be in our hearts even if he is not in our sight. The family thanks Dr. Bergen, Ilona, Dr. St. Godard and the Riverview Palliative Care Staff for their compassionate care. Memorial service will be held on Friday, February 10, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main Street, Winnipeg with a private interment. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Riverview Health Centre, 1 Morley Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3L 2P4.

Liebe Tante Edith, Liebe Cousinen, Cousins und Angehörige, wir sind traurig über den Heimgang von Onkel Herbert. Unsere Gedanken sind in diesen schweren Stunden des Abschieds bei Euch. Wir wünschen Euch viel Kraft. Gerne denke wir an die schöne Zeit in Kanada zurück als Opa, Hans und Claudia bei Euch zu Besuch waren.
