JAMES WILLIAM ASHTON December 12, 1918 - February 3, 2012 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Father, Grandfather, and G.G. on February 3, 2012 at the age of 93. Jim was predeceased in 2006 by his loving wife Rose, of 64 years. He will be sadly missed by his daughters Donna (Gary), Joan (Ken), grandchildren Jason, Tannis (Kevin), and great-grandchildren Paige and Logan. Jim was a wonderful man and hard worker. In his younger years he worked for the CP Rail and from there went on to take a position with Winnipeg Terminal Credit Union where he worked for many years, eventually retiring in 1980 as manager. Jim was always a very active person and enjoyed many hours (and miles) of cycling. He was also a handy person, spending much of his free time helping others with many projects from building fences to finishing basements. If you needed it done, Jim was there with his know how and his tools to help! In his later years, his time was spent caring for his beloved wife Rosie Posie with whom he is now reunited. We love you and miss you both. The family would like to extend a warm thank you to the staff at Concordia Hospital for all your care and compassion. The family would also like to thank Dr. Halmarson and the staff at Access River East for their exceptional care given to James. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the MS Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. As per James' wishes, cremation has taken place, followed by a private family interment. • So sorry for your loss, James used to come into Eastern Chrysler & always said hello & asked how I was doing. I met him about 10 years ago now & he astonished me wen he would tell me all about his cycling & caring for his wife. He loved her so dearly, he was an amazing man who always put a smile on my face. - Posted by: Elizabeth Abraham () on: Feb 12, 2012
