STEFANIA (STELLA) BOLLENBACH (nee DZIALIK) It is with our greatest sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Stella Bollenbach, at the full age of 92, in the early hours of Wednesday, February 8, 2012, at the Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg. She will be sadly missed and forever in the hearts of those whose lives she touched. She leaves to mourn her son, David (Maya) of Sechelt, British Columbia; daughter, Pat Colyer (John); granddaughter Cristan Stevenson (Ed) and treasured grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Stella was born and raised in Cooks Creek, MB, with her parents, Nellie and Frank Dzialik. She is survived by her sister Adeline Chihonik; and was predeceased by her husband, Emanuel (Slim); brothers Walter and Johnl; and sisters Caroline, Jean, Helen and Josephine. Stella and Slim raised their two children in the East Kildonan area of Winnipeg, while working at The Hudsons Bay Company, until she retired to spend her days tending to her beautiful flower and vegetable gardens. She was an independent and generous soul who gave her all for her family. Her happiest moments were spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and in turn, provided them with memories to last a lifetime. Whether it be holiday evenings spent playing Rumoli or relaxing afternoons enjoying a game of Scrabble, she enjoyed the little things to the fullest. Her life was a long and full one, and blessed are those who had the opportunity to take part in it. With a profound sense of loss, we continue on our own paths, with the hope that one day we will see your smile again. Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, with interment and reception to follow. Donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to a charity of your choice. Chapel Lawn www.chapellawn.mb.ca 885-9715

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • I worked with Stella at the Bay in Stock Records. She was always a very nice person, co worker to me and we shared many laughs as Stella had a good sense of humour. She always took the time to listen to my stories of boyfriend troubles, etc. and tried to give me good advice. I was young at the time and had lunches with her and Lee and both of them were very nice to me. I am so sorry to hear of Stella's passing and my sincere condolences to your family. May Stella Rest In Peace. - Posted by: Dian Dawson (Sorokowski) (co worker, at the Bay) on: Feb 13, 2012
