GORDON J. WOLIGROCKY Born in Red Deer, Manitoba, July 2, 1937. Dad passed away quietly on February 12, 2012, at the side of his loving wife Florence after a short battle with lung cancer. He will be greatly missed by his three children, sons Darren and Ken, daughter Kathy; sister Carole and Joe Martin; grandchildren Daniel, Nicole, Kenny, Harrison, Spencer and Jarrett. He was a loving father and can be remembered for his wit and sense of humour, but also for the fine works that he achieved over his lifetime - the huge Red River Cart that he built in Selkirk at Selkirk Park and antique vehicles at the Museum of Man and Nature. He will always be remembered for his master carpentry skills and cabinet making. He is now with the Lord and his passed family but will be sorely missed by all who knew him and loved him. Rest In Peace Loving Father We would like to commend the staff at the Palliative Care Unit at Concordia Hospital for the awesome treatment and professional work, but mostly Sandy whom had Mom lie at his side in his final moments. The room was full of love during his final breath. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 7:00 p.m., at Friends Funeral Chapel, 2146 Main Street, Winnipeg.

  • Gordon hired me for a summer to be his carpenter's helper at Adventureland Park in Altoona,Iowa where he built several trolley cars and refurbished a Lake Steamship named the Queen. In addition to being a master carpenter, Gordon was a very gentle, fine man with an incredible sense of humor. He could always put everyone he met at ease with his wit and personality. He will be deeply missed by his family and everyone who came in contact with him. May he rest in peace. - Posted by: Lorne Wazny (Cousin) on: Feb 14, 2012
