JANOS (JOHN) KOVACS January 24, 1930 - February 11, 2012 Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, our father and grandfather passed away at the St. Norbert Personal Care Home. Born in Hungary, John immigrated to Canada in 1957 and started life here as a Mechanical Engineer. His interests were many and varied including the Winnipeg Camera Club, Kinsmen Reh-Fit Centre, travelling and volunteering. He was predeceased by his wife, Ruby, in 2003. He will be sadly missed by his three children Susan Braun (Kelly) of Winnipeg, Gary Kovacs (Shawna) of San Francisco, Charlene Kovacs of Vancouver and their children, Megan, Eric, Alexandra, Quinn and Erin. Also left to cherish his memory is his companion, Norma Schussler. We would like to extend a special thank you to his brother-in-law, Frank Kiraly, who brightened dad's days with his frequent visits to the nursing home, as well as the staff for their wonderful care given to our father. John will always be loved and remembered for his love, generosity, compassion and kindness to all. Rest in peace Dad, we will hold you in our hearts forever. A gathering of family and friends will be held in April to honour John's life. Interment will be held at a later date. • We are very sorry to hear the passing of our dear friend John. We befriended John through his love of photography and have repaired his cameras over the last 25 years. He would visit us 3-4 times a year but we know he has not been well for a long time. He always greeted us with a smile and a hug and we shall miss his warm personality. He was a very kind man and so proud of his children whom he always bragged about when we saw him. We shall truly miss his handsome face and friendship. May he now rest in peace free from pain. God Bless John, his children and Norma. - Posted by: Ron and Marcie Bart (Computech Camera) (long time friend) on: Feb 15, 2012
