RAYMOND STEPHEN GLUCHI July 2, 1945 February 13, 2012 It is with utmost gratitude to Mr. Ray Steen, the paramedics, Dr. R. Macek, Rev. James Bardsley and hospital staff, family and friends for all that what was done to extend Ray's life and for support in the hours following. We all knew Ray beat the odds for many years and was able to do most everything that made him the most content and happy. People were his greatest need being a man of little wants and needs and he was so blessed to have a community of good friends, coffee friends, the brotherhood of firefighters and a family that loved him. Ray was born in the R.M. of Armstrong, Manitoba on July 2, 1945 to Steve and Jean Gluchi. On November 18, 1967, Ray and Jan were married and had almost 45 years of a great marriage. Like most, we had our ups and downs, but Ray was a leveller. He was not a deep thinker which balanced Jan quite well, mostly. He just went about his day in the way he wanted, coffee with the fellows at the Hotel, later coffee with the friends at Sig's, home for lunch, and maybe a lawnmower or a snow blower to fix for somebody in the afternoon. Enjoyed cutting grass, growing a garden, breaking bread with friends over a meal, traveling, albeit seven-ten days was enough for Ray, he enjoyed home. And he enjoyed his cottage family and the times there. There are many of us left to grieve a loving husband, brother, uncle, grandpa and friend. Survived by wife Jan, sister Grace, brothers Ted, Allan and Randy and their families, step daughter Tara and her husband Daryl. And precious stepgrandpa to Jake, special nieces Tammy and Leah, Special nephew Kyle, great-nephews Daniel and Matthew and many other Nieces and nephews. The funeral service and Celebration of Life will be held at the Anglican Church of the Ascension Stonewall, MB. Friday, February 17, 2012 at 2:00 pm. A private family interment will take place immediately following the service and all are welcome to join the family and extended family at the Stonewall Legion to help and support a community and each other in grief and healing. Although they are so beautiful, flowers are gratefully declined. Charity donations would be so appreciated by the Anglican Church of the Ascension, Box 550, Stonewall, the Winnipeg Humane Society, Siloam Mission, Winnipeg or the Firefighters Burn Fund in Ray's Memory. Thank you. How do we wrap up 66 years of love and memories other then to say we all love you forever and until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of his hand. • Hi everybody, I am a "GLUCHI" from Austria and have learnt in the late 90ies, that my father Basilius Gluchi, might have a famiiy in the states or in Southern America. He was born in Koniew, WEST UKRAINE (nowadays, but in former times; that was at his birth in 1884 Koniew was belonging to the AUSTRIAN EMPIRE; the region was known as Galizien), Might be that your now so sadly passing away GLUCHI is a relative also to me. If it is so and you have information about his father Basilius GLUCHI please give me a note. I would appreciate verx much. My deepest condolences, indeed.
