DANIEL DAVID TALLMAN Daniel David Tallman died peacefully on January 29, 2012 in Aventura, Florida at the age of 93. Danny was predeceased by his parents Mike and Clara (nee Solotiow) Tatleman, his first wife, Sally (nee Robbin), his daughter Selma Sigesmund and his son, Martin Tallman. Danny is survived by his wife, May Tadman Tallman, (nee Mindess), brothers, Harvey, Ervin and Alan Tallman, sisters, Edna Toews and Marjorie Bellan, daughter-in-law, Gloria Tallman, stepson, Michael Tadman (Candis), stepdaughter, Roberta Chochinov (Ron), grandchildren, Alexander Tallman, Marshall Sigesmund (Leslie), Roberta Evtuch (Ray), Krissy Goodhand, Julia Tadman, Carrie (Andy) Sundberg and Jennifer Chochinov and great-grandchildren, Mitchell and Grant Sigesmund, Jeffrey and Rachel Evtuch, Morgan Tallman, Alexander and Bailey Sundberg, care giver, Claudette Luben and numerous nephews and nieces. Danny was educated principally at the School of Hard Knocks and he served with the Royal Winnipeg Rifles on the Belgium front. Danny went on to co-found Tallman Gravel and Paving Supply and specialized in the construction of airport runways and roads. Danny was a partner in the construction of Place Louis Riel Apartments and subsequently became co-owner and converted it into the Place Louis Riel Hotel. Danny shared his success through his generosity, kindness and philanthropy. He was a diamond in the rough, a lover of people, music, golf, playing gin, sports, flowers, travel and above all else, family. Danny was always active and on the go until shortly before his death. He was grateful for the life he led and a source of warmth, fairness and kindness to all. He will be sorely missed and remembered.
