BARRY THOMAS HILL Barry was born in Winnipeg, MB on July 20, 1935 and passed away peacefully on February 15, 2012 at the Charleswood Care Centre. Growing up in St. James, Barry attended Britannia School and St. James Collegiate. Over the years he was employed with Parkview Drugs, Limberettes Gymnastic School, Eaton's Mail Order, and Spartan Cleaners. Although facing various challenges during his lifetime, Barry found comfort in his profound love of music. Family and friends were special to him also. He cherished the friendships of school chums that endured a life time. He fondly recalled the companionship of his grandfather while spending summers in Lavenham. Special friends Barb, Leslie, and Cousin Vera who provided support, care, and understanding were deeply appreciated. Predeceased by his mother Vernice (Aikens) and father Thomas Hill, he is survived by his sister Judy, with whom he shared a unique bond, his two Aunt Agnes Aikens, Aunt Jean Patterson, as well as several cousins. Special thanks are extended to all staff servicing Unit 5 of Charleswood Care Centre for the compassion, dignity, and respect shown to Barry and his family. Those wishing to do so may make a donation in Barry's memory to The Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way. Graveside service will be held at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Avenue on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at 12:00 noon.
