Mary was my 2nd cousin from my mother's side :-) then she married my cousin Alvin from my dad's side, we would tease that we were definitely related! While I lived in Canada Mary was always there when I needed her she was definitely a great friend to me. She loved Alvin and they had a good life together. I have many fond memories of her and Alvin their travels and ventures. The highlight in her life was Bruce she was so proud of him, when he got married to Elizabeth, her life was brighten with the addition of precious grandchildren. I was always thankful for the pictures and updates. Yes Her family was her life, she was a fighter who wouldn't give up easily. Even in death she has not given up but gone on to another venture in a life of eternity with our Lord! My prayers and thoughts to Bruce, Elizabeth, grandsons, brothers and sisters. Thank you for sharing her with us. Love cousin Carol Dyck - Posted by: Carol Dyck (Cousin) on: Feb 19, 2012

Bruce, I am so sorry to hear about your mother. I had heard quite a few years ago that she had cancer. At one point I had tried to track her down but was unable to find her. She was a great lady and was very devoted to your father. I will always remember our visits with your mother and father when we were neighbors. They were great neighbors and both were an integral part of the building of the East Selkirk Recreation Centre. We spent many hours together volunteering and organizing the many events that were held to raise money for the centre. My deepest sympathy to you and your family. - Posted by: Sharon Smith (Past neighbor in East Selkirk) on: Feb 19, 2012

Mary & I started our friendship as members of Chelsea Apt. Tenancy Seniors Group (Treas.& Sec.)., so we shared many meetings developing a strong friendship, lasting 17 yrs. She will be sadly missed & respected for her exceptional courage throughout her long illness. God bless. Your friend, Margaret Whitley. - Posted by: Mary Klippenstein (Very good and close friend for over 17 years ) on: Feb 19, 2012
