MARGRITHA (MARGRET) VAN KRIEKEN After a short battle with cancer Margret died at Riverview Health Centre on Tuesday, 21. February 2012. She will be greatly missed by her partner of 38 years, Jeannette Oudenampsen; their sons Cameron (Kristie), Jonathon and Jason (Camille); grandchildren Kisha, Stanley, Nolan, Kevin, Shaylyn, and Skyla; her sister Gesiena (Jan) in Holland, nieces, nephews and extended family in The Netherlands as well as many friends both in Canada and Holland. Over the years these wonderful ladies opened their home to 19 foster children. It was a warm, nourishing home with always just the right amount of chaos. Margret was born in Holland and came to Canada in 1974. She was a talented and creative seamstress but excelled in her role as Mom and caregiver. Her warmth, generosity and loyalty to both family and friends gave us all an example of how to live and love. We thank the staff of Riverview Palliative Care for their kindness. Also a special thanks to the staff on 4B at St. Boniface Hospital who journeyed so much of the way with Margret and made her quality of life more than she ever expected. The home Palliative Care program also deserves kudos for making Margret's stay at home a wonderful experience for both she and her family. A celebration of Margret's life will be held on Saturday, February 25, at 2.00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Boniface Hospital Foundation. 586.8044

For the short time that I knew Margritha I got to see what a warm and loving person she was. I could see and feel the love in your home. - Posted by: Eleanor Devlin (homecare staff) on: Feb 24, 2012
