RICHARD (DICK) COAD 1931 - 2012 On February 21, 2012, Richard (Dick) Coad passed away peacefully at Deer Lodge Centre, surrounded by his family. Left to forever cherish his memory is his wife of 56 years Joyce, son Gregg (Melanie), daughter Sherrill (Carlos) of Montreal, and son Brent (Bonnie) also of Winnipeg. He had a close relationship with his grandchildren Lindsay (Rob), Steven (Katrina), Ryan (Torrey), Vanessa (Jarett), Tiara (Spencer), Jordan, and great- grandchildren Aidan and Ella. He is also survived by his sister Donna Aspinall and family. Dad was born on December 3, 1931 in Eden, Manitoba and moved to Winnipeg as a pre-schooler. Sports were the center of his life growing up in St. Vital, especially hockey and baseball. Summers spent at the cottage at Clear Lake were a tradition he enjoyed as a boy and continued as his own family grew. He retired from CN Rail after 35 years of service. When leaving his teenage years behind, he realized there was a more serious side to life and so he dedicated his life and was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. From that time onward his priority was caring for his family and serving his god Jehovah. Dad had outstanding qualities that were a positive influence on all those around him. He always gave of himself to those who needed care and compassion which he viewed as simply the only way we should care for our fellowman. His ability to teach and motivate people in his ministry was a gift that resulted in loyal friendships from coast to coast. Combined with his great sense of humour and love of life, Dad made himself someone who was loved by all that knew him. He looked forward to the promise of a resurrection found at John 5:28,29. We want to thank the staff at Deer Lodge Centre for their care and compassion shown over the past few months. It was truly outstanding. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, February 27 at the Kingdom Hall Centre, 227 Lakewood Boulevard, Winnipeg. Mr. Milton Brown officiating.
