MARIA DOLORES CABUNGCAL 1916 - 2012 It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Maria Dolores Cabungcal (Lola Loleng) on February 26, 2012 at the Grace Hospital, with her family and precious friends at her side. She was predeceased by her parents, brothers, sisters, niece Cleotilde Ong and nephew Almerto Cabungcal. She is survived by her daughter Luzviminda and son-in-law Dalmacio, grandchildren Danilo Sr. (Gem) and Darwin (Glenda), six great-grandchildren Cocoy, Dereck, David, Daniel, Dylan and Gabriel, as well as all relatives in Canada, Philippines, Japan, U.K. and the U.S.A. Maria Dolores was born in San Anton, Nueva Ecija, Philippines on May 25, 1916. Lola Loleng joined us here in Winnipeg in early 1994 and helped us oversee all her grandchildren grow up. She will be remembered most by her uncanny sense of humour, cooking her famous sitsaron (Porkrinds), watching TFC (The Filipino Channel), playing cards with great-grandson Gabe and the love of Kisses chocolate. In January 2011 Lola Loleng enjoyed her first visit to the Philippines and was able to see some of our extended family and longtime friends. Lamay will take place on Friday, March 2, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at St. Edwards Church on Arlington at 1:00 p.m. Active and Honorary Pallbearers will be Nomer Sigua, Jesus Cruz, Gerry Maruya, Salvador Binas, Fernando Salon and Wyman Mar.
