JOSEPH WARREN VITT August 6, 1951- March 01, 2012 It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear brother, father and grandfather. Warren was predeceased by his loving parents Joseph (September 1989), Frances (October 2007), and sister Barbara (September 2010). Left to cherish his memory are his three sisters Christine (Ken) with children Conrad (Tara), Trevor (Melanie) and son Kyle; Tracey (Glen) and Charlene (Chuck) with children Meaghan, Matthew and Morgan, brother-in-law Gord, children Michael (Mike) and David, Warren's sons Adam and Jay (Claire); and grandson Dominique, whom he didn't have the chance to meet; also numerous relatives and friends. Warren was born and raised in Winnipeg. He attended St. Joseph's School, and graduated from St. John's High School. He worked for Pepsi as manager of sales and Investor's Group as a consultant Warren will be sadly missed and mostly remembered by all who knew him in healthier times. He loved football, hockey (which he coached his son's team) and basketball, in which he cheered his nephew Matthew on. He had an amazing talent for music. His guitar playing and voice were astonishing. His humour was one of a kind. He could have you laughing so hard you'd be crying. His love for life, family, friends, animals and nature and being out in the great outdoors, that was Warren. To the movement disorder clinic, Drs. Hobson, Borys, Kurchak, Jillian Barne (speech pathologist) and especially Sandra Funk (social worker)our gratitude. You made a world of difference for Warren and so many others like him. Bless you all. To Warren's support group, you were all his second family, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. To cousin Brian, thanks for spending special time with Warren, he looked up to you like a brother. The family would like to thank the St. Boniface Hospital for all their support, kindness and for making Warren comfortable. A very special thank you to Father Mark for being there and giving us spiritual comfort. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will held at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Burrin Ave., Friday, March 9, 2012, at 2:00 p.m.. Interment to be at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens at a later date . Flowers gratefully declined. Donations may be made to the Huntington's Society of Canada, 200 Woodlawn St., Winnipeg, MB R2J 2H7, or in memory of Warren, take the time to help someone less fortunate or in need. Warren you are at peace now, in your eternal home with our Saviour. Take care of Dad, Mom and Barb and our beloved relatives and pets. Give them all a big hug from us. 586-8044

Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • My condolences on your loss Christine. May the Vitt and the Welby families be blessed with the Peace of Christ at this very difficult time - Posted by: susan lang ((st. joseph's school)) on: Mar 11, 2012

  • I'm only 6 months younger than Warren and remember all the times we shared with family growing up during our younger years. I didn't meet Warren as an adult due to living out of province, although I had many regrets as I would have loved to reminisce. Warren, may you find peace and enjoyment singing & playing guitars with dad (Uncle Louie) and we'll meet again! - Posted by: Laurie Page (nee Vitt) (cousin) on: Mar 08, 2012

  • Although we didn't know Warren very well, what we did know is that he was a friendly person, was always happy and upbeat and was a strong person. I'm sure that no words could ever express the loss the family is feeling right now, but we want you to know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. We send our love and condolences, may the good memories you cherish bring you peace. - Posted by: Robert and Diane Welby (Family friend) on: Mar 07, 2012

  • I learned so much from Warren in the last 5 years he spent here. Being a caregiver for him, I learned more life lessons than anyone would learn in a lifetime. Warren you were you and no one ever can replace that. You taught me how to have Faith, Strength, Hope, and Love from within my heart. I'll miss you alot Warren, but you'll always be my inspiration. Thanks for being such a great brother-in-law, and awesome uncle. We'll miss your jokes, tales of the old days, singing, and cheering... Charlene, Chuck, Meaghan, Matt, and Morgan xxoo - Posted by: charlene welby (youngest sister) on: Mar 05, 2012
