JAMES MCILEARNEY July 28, 1923 - February 17, 2012 Peacefully on February 17, 2012, James McIlearney passed away at the age of 88 years, at the Seven Oaks Hospital in Winnipeg, MB. He was predeceased less than two months prior, by his loving wife Nora, on December 26, 2011. Left to cherish his memory is his beloved son, Richard. Jimmy was born in Craggan Bane, County Armagh, Northern Ireland. He was living and working in England when Nora moved from The Republic of Ireland to England, where they met and married on October 23, 1948. They later immigrated to Canada in 1957 where they lived the remainder of their lives in Winnipeg, MB. Jimmy was employed for 25 years as a sheet metal worker with Air Canada until his retirement. He enjoyed gardening and was an active member of his church, but above all, he was a devoted husband and father. He will be dearly missed. Prayers will be held on Thursday, March 8, 2011, at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 4588 Roblin Blvd., Winnipeg, MB. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 9, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church with Rev. Msgr. Comeault, P.H. as Celebrant. Interment will be held at the Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jimmy's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald St., Suite 200, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6, or the Canadian Cancer Society, 191 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7.
