Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGEORGE WILLOX December 22, 1916 March 5, 2012 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our father and grandfather on March 5, 2012, at the age of 95. His passing has left us filled with grief, but also many good memories. Dad was predeceased by his wife of 40 years, Grace in 1984, his parents and most recently his son Donald Willox. Dad was a strong man but he was not able to cope with his son's death. He is survived by his remaining three children Gwen, Peggy (Jim) and Dorothy, and grandchildren Cheryl and Jeff. Dad was a farmer, happy and determined to always live on the farm first owned by his parents in the 1930s. He would never consider leaving his home and we are happy he remained there until his death. He loved a good joke and had a hearty laugh. He was a quiet guy, but, loved a good visit. Mom and Dad operated a small dairy farm for many years, and then raised Simmental breeding stock. Through the years they both enjoyed working with the livestock, many becoming more like family pets than farm animals. It was a very sad day when the last animal was gone. Dad did enjoy seeing some of Bruce Buchanan's cattle in the yard over the summer when they pastured at the farm. The family sends special thanks to all Dad's great neighbours and friends, Shirley Lindsay, Cornie (Lynda) Peters, Brian (Heather) Gillespie, Bruce (Gwen) Buchanan and Wayne (Janet) Peters. We also extend special thanks to Dr. Kevin Coates for taking such great care of Dad since 1984. We acknowledge and appreciate the exceptional help of Lynne, Annette and Janice who helped Dad through Home Care. A celebration of George's life will be held on Friday, March 9, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, 433 Main Street, Stonewall, MB. Dad will be laid to rest with his beloved wife Grace and son Donald in Stonewall. Pallbearers will be Cornie Peters, Brian Gillespie, Bruce Buchanan, Wayne Peters, Wayne Gilby and Jeff Gilby. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. MACKENZIE FUNERAL CHAPEL STONEWALL (204) 467-2525 mackhome@mts.net

I will always remember George's strength in work and play (baseball); there were broken bats everywhere. Rest in peace George, with Grace & Don. - Posted by: Ron Good (Nephew) on: Mar 08, 2012
