ELAINE THERESE SIMPSON (nee SIMMONDS) December 20, 1923 - March 7, 2012 It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Elaine Simpson, on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at the Victoria General Hospital. Elaine was predeceased by her loving husband John (Jack) Simpson, her son John, her sisters Verna, Sheila, Rosaleen and her nephew Randy. Elaine leaves to mourn her son Rick (Ursula), her daughter Cari (Gord) and her grandchildren, Cale, Brett, Braeden, Taylor and Christopher and all her nieces and nephews, especially Maureen, Mary Beth, Mark, Cec and David and her brother-in-law Stan Sharpe. Elaine loved her sisters immensely. But, nothing mattered to her more than her children, grandchildren, her many nieces and nephews and a few special friends. She had a truly wonderful faith in god until the day she died and it was this faith that gave her an incredible determination. Honorary pallbearers are; Gord Guenther, Cale Simpson, Brett Simpson, Braeden Guenther, Taylor Guenther, Mark Rathwell, Jim Harely , Bob Clarkson, Jim Clarkson and David Garlock. The family would like to give special thanks to the truly wonderful and caring staff at Victoria General Hospital the nurses and heath care assistants of Unit 3 South. A special thank you to "Hop-along Cassidy" for your special loving care, your friendship, advice and for ensuring Mom was peaceful in her final hours. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Elaine's memory to the Victoria General Hospital Foundation. Service to take place on Monday, March 12, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, with reception to follow.
