TONY SEMCHUK March 10, 1917 - March 8, 2012 It is with deep regret our family announces the passing of Tony Semchuk at the Maples Personal Care Home. Tony was predeceased by his beloved wife Olive on July 18, 2009. They were married for 70 years. His memory will be forever cherished by daughters Loretta Merriam (Edward) and Janice Borowski (Frank); grandchildren Corinne Duguay (Jules), Pamela Dyck (Murray) and David Borowski (Stacey); great-grandchildren Caitlin, Taylor and Gabrielle Duguay, Bailey Rostek, Madelyn and Kayla Borowski; sisters Bessie Masterman and Rose Semchuk; sisters-in-law Hazel Chute, Victoria Stebeleski, Emily Shmon and Helen Shmon and many nieces and nephews. Tony was also predeceased by his parents Michael and Olena Semchuk; mother-in-law and father-in-law Walter and Mary Shmon; sister Julia Yerama, brother Ernie Semchuk; sisters-in-law Anne Stebeleski, Mary Holwachuk and Janice Mason; brothers-in-law Fred Stebeleski, Mike Holwachuk, Gerald Stebeleski, Melburn Chute, Frank Masterman, Nick Yerama, Bill Shmon and Ernie Shmon. The family would like to extend their appreciation to Dr. D. Caners and Dr. M. Jain, Home Care staff Vicki, Debbie, Mary and Beryl who helped keep Tony at St. Michael's Villa for as long as possible and also to Veterans Affairs who also greatly assisted in his well being and lastly but not least to all the staff at the Maples Personal Care Home, especially Bobbi, Teresa, Carol, Eleen, Mary, Joel and all the wonderful health care aides for their care and compassion. Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, March 13 at 10:00 a.m. at All Saints Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 1500 Day Street, with Father Bill Wasyliw officiating. Interment to follow in Transcona Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kirk Shmon, Tommy Shmon, Murray Dyck, Frank Munn, Kurt Meier and Mitch Mosienko, honorary pallbearers will be Kirby Funk and Laurie Merriam. In lieu of flowers, if friends so wish, memorial donations may be made to All Saints Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 1500 Day Street, Winnipeg, MB R2C 1E4 or to a charity of choice.
