DENIS LEO BRUNEAU 1951 - 2012 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our Dad, Denis Bruneau on Friday, March 9, 2012 at St. Boniface Hospital. Left to forever cherish Denis' memory is his beloved wife Gloria, of 40 years of marriage; sons, Sean and Michael; grandson Donavin; mother Germaine; sister Doris (Jim); brother Rick; sister-in-law Angela (Greg); niece Lynne (Frank); nephews, Nicholas, Joel, Glenn and Mark; as well as numerous other relatives. He was predeceased by his father Leo. Dad loved the outdoors. He was at peace when he could go fishing and listen to the sounds of nature. He was content walking the bush with his hunting buddies on their annual trips. Dad enjoyed working in his vegetable garden and around the yard. Whatever he could do that kept him outside he did and right beside him was his best friend and constant companion, his dearly loved dog, Sasha. She misses you Dad. Dad had a sense of humour and loved to tease (especially Mom). He was friendly and outgoing and was always willing to help out someone in need. He had a mischievous side to him which we, of course, inherited along with his quick wit. Dad could always make Mom laugh even when she was trying not to. We will try our best to do the same. We will cherish all our memories of you, Dad. We would like to extend sincere thanks to Jeff for his friendship and support which meant a lot to Dad and Mom. A special thanks also to Dr. Coates, the nurses and health care aides on A6 South, and everyone on staff that gave that little extra to make Dad more comfortable and ensured his final days were as painless and peaceful as possible. At Dad's request, cremation has taken place and no other arrangements will be made at this time. Dad would want everyone to remember him in their own way, in their own time. We all love you Dad, and we all miss you.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • I am very sorry to hear about the loss of Dennis. Gloria and family please accept my most sincere condolences. This really makes you think about the old days and all the fun we had working in the packing house and socializing with Dennis! He was a great friend with a faboulous sense of humor, and almost always had a smile on his face and a joke to tell or a smart alec comment to make, but they were harmless! (most times LOL) I will miss you my friend, but you have given me a lot of great memories!!!!! Rest in peace my friend.....
