Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • I knew Helen for a few years when I volunteered at Park Manor in high school, then just recently I began volunteering there again. She was always there with a smile, and enjoyed anytime you had to spend with her. I knew her as the "candy lady" as she referred to herself this. She spoke very highly of her family, and always had a new story to tell with excitement. I will miss talking about the new harlequinn book she was reading, and helping her with her word jumble. She will be missed. - Posted by: katie (Park Manor Volunteer) on: Mar 19, 2012

  • Laurie...my sincere condolences. Your Mom was a woman of energy, enthusiasm and inspiration. She always made us feel welcome at her ceramic classes, her smile and laughter brightened the room. We had many good times. I remember one evening she invited me for supper & made these awesome dumplings, she couldn't believe that I had never had one before; they were so good. Take care, sending you strength and courage..Luv Patti - Posted by: Patricia Montsion (Ceramic student & old friend (MTS) of Laurie's) on: Mar 17, 2012

  • My mother, Helen, was a lifelong friend of Helen Skidmore, until her passing in 2005. I have many memories of "Auntie Helen", as well as some of the special ceramics she made for me over the years. She was a very kind and generous person, who will be greatly missed. - Posted by: Darlene Ross (friend) on: Mar 17, 2012

  • Lori and Susan I had such wonderful times at your Mom's ceramic classes. She was one of the kindest ladies I've ever met. She also made us laugh and have fun. You can be very proud to have had such a loving, caring, mother. Sending my hugs and love to your family. - Posted by: Sandy Antosko (Heintz) (Cermamic student) on: Mar 17, 2012
