Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHENRY LESTER CROSBY With his family by his side on March 13, 2012, at his home, Henry passed away at the age of 79. Left to cherish his memory are spouse Joan; children Michael (Shelley), Marjorie (Jay); grandchildren Curtis (Jasmine), Ryan, Jaidyn, and Liam; sisters Sandra Fadeley, Sonya Miller; sister-in-law Connie Crosby and their children. He was predeceased by parents Ralph and Marjorie Crosby, and brother Richard Crosby. Henry was born in 1932 in Princeton, Maine. He lived in Princeton until 1942, and in Cranston, Rhode Island until 1952. He was drafted into the U.S. Army 1952 to 1954, serving in Salzburg, Austria in the Signal Corps. Henry attended New England Conservatory of Music (Applied Music) from 1954 to 1961 and studied the double bass under Georges Moleux, Principal Bass, Boston Symphony. On June 16, 1961 he married Joan Evelyn Naylor in New York City. His employment varied through the years, with the San Antonio Symphony as Assistant Principal Bass from 1961 to 1963, and the Winnipeg Symphony from 1963 to 1975. Also Henry worked at the Winnipeg Taxation Centre until his retirement in 1996. Henry's hobbies included mineral and gem collecting, wood carving, and music. Pops was the best grampa ever! There will be a private family interment at a later date. The family would like to thank Dr. F. Salem, and the Palliative Care team for their care and compassion.
