JAMES EVANS MCBREAIRTY 1917 - 2012 It is with great sadness we announce that our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great- grandfather passed away peacefully on March 16, 2012, at Grace Hospital at the age of 94. Jim was predeceased by his parents Ane Maria and Duncan McBreairty. Jim is survived by his loving wife Edith, of 64 years; his children, Lois (Don), Enid (Al), and Leanne (Les); his loving grandchildren, Dana (Rob), Trista (Chris), Justin (Niki), Kelsey, Jaime, Evan and Owen; and his precious great-grandchildren, Adoni, Erasmia, Jenna, Tegan and Kade. Jim was born September 5, 1917, in Brandon Manitoba. He spent his early years in Woodside, Manitoba, then moved to Winnipeg to start his career with C.N.R./Via Rail, where he worked for 35 years. Bumpa (as he was affectionately known) was a quiet man, who loved his family deeply. He loved sitting in the backyard amongst his beautiful flowers, music of all kinds, the outdoors, camping, going to his grandchildrens' many sporting activities and kept an avid interest in all that they did even to the end. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of 3-North Grace Hospital for their care. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grace Hospital Foundation, 300 Booth Drive, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3J 3M7 or to a charity of your choice. Chapel Lawn www.chapellawn.mb.ca 885-9715

  • As children we all grew up on Sharp Blvd. Lois and I went to the same schools, were friends belonging to the Stitch & *itch club after we married.
