WILLIAM (BILL) PENNER May 9, 1929 - March 18, 2012 Peacefully, on March 18, 2012 Bill Penner passed into the arms of Jesus. Bill was born on the family farm near Osborne, Manitoba, the youngest of nine children. Bill was predeceased by his parents Johann and Maria Penner, four brothers John, Peter, Paul and Henry, and three sisters Mary Epp, Helen Penner and Agnes Stobbe. He is survived by his loving wife Anna, children Calvin and Gloria, Lori and Andy Wilder, Bob and Christine, and Chuck and Marlene, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and his sister Anne Rempel. Bill was a lifelong farmer first at Osborne, Manitoba and later at Elm Creek. Bill and Anna moved to Carman 18 years ago which allowed him to continue working on the farm for a number of years. Bill enjoyed retirement in Carman, going for coffee and playing scrabble with friends. The family would like to thank the staff at the Carman Hospital for their caring attention. Viewing will be held on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Friends Community Church, 245 1st Street NW, Carman, MB. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. also at Friends Community Church. Private family interment will take place prior to service in the Elm Creek Cemetery.
