(BILLIE) WILNA MCINTOSH October 2, 1923 - March 19, 2012 With profound sadness we announce the passing of Billie McIntosh on Monday, March 19, 2012 at the Grace Hospital, at the age of 88. Billie was born at the Souris, Manitoba hospital to Margarite and Ermine Canning. Billie was predeceased by son Jay, dad, mother, and sister Doreen. Billie will be lovingly remembered and missed by husband Bob, of 68 plus years October 14, 1943. She will be remembered and missed by son Shawn (Kathy), Heather and Michael; sister Bessie Cartlidge, Souris, MB; Kathy Anderson (Tim); Michael (Doreen); Justin (Kristie); Sara Down (Rob); great-grandchildren, and so many friends; also with a special note of long-time friends, Fred and Bev Beckwith who were always there to help. Billie was a nurses aide in Fort William Isolation Hospital with successful results using Sister Kenny Treatment of polio. Happy Time Nursery had a lot of daily service (25 years) from Billie. Being a member of the Winnipeg Royal Purple Lodge #12 and Bob's involvement in the Elks Lodge #10 resulted in many activities, friends and fun. Billie's sewing, needlecraft and knitting were always prominent; we will always miss Sunday roast beef with Yorkshire Pudding, and she loved watching curling. Billie's functioning with children was top notch. Bob's 71 years of companionship with Billie will never be lost. Many thanks to all. A memorial service will take place Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Avenue (across from Brookside Cemetery).
