IRENE KOTELES It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our mother on March 16, 2012 at the age of 87. Irene was born in Czechoslovakia on October 17, 1924. She and her husband John (deceased) immigrated to Canada in 1949 to join his father residing here in Winnipeg. Irene and John were married for 49 years at the time of his passing in 1995. Irene leaves behind her loving daughters - Irene Nekrep (Karl), their children Karl Jr., Christina Rieger (Ryan) and Joseph; Sylvia Ryman (Ken), their children Shannon, Shayla, Shaun, Shelby and Sheena; great-grandchildren - Gibson, Jewel, Jackson and Kaitlyn. Irene's life revolved around her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We will always cherish the memories of her delicious Hungarian meals made with love for her family. The family would like to thank the staff of West Park Manor for all the kind and loving care they gave our mother since August 2008. Cremation has taken place. A private family memorial service with Father Stan Gacek, pastor of St. Anthony of Padua Church (Hungarian), officiating was held on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Flowers are gratefully declined. For those wishing, donations in Irene's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or any other charity of choice.
