LAMBERT (LEN) DERKSEN Peacefully with his family by his side Len passed away at the Health Sciences Centre on March 21, 2012. Len was predeceased by his parents Margaret and Jake Derksen, sisters Tina (Wiebe) and Esther (James). Len will lovingly be remembered by his wife Shirley, of 48 years, their children Dale (Tammy), Jeff (Carole) and grandchildren Noah, Lucas, Ethan, Jenna, Alexis and Olivia, brothers Abe and Edwin (Brenda) as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Len was born in Gretna, MB then lived in Beamsville, ON, and settled in Winnipeg, MB to raise his family. Len had a passion for his work and spent 38 years at Reimer Express and two years at Canadian Freightways. Always a dedicated family man, Len revelled in the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren, joyfully attending all their many events. He was always happy spending time in the yard gardening as well as his early morning coffee breaks with friends. In keeping with Len's wishes cremation has taken place and a memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Tuesday, March 27 at 1:00 p.m. in Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street with a family interment to follow. A special thank you to the staff at CancerCare Manitoba and the MICU at Health Sciences Centre who all showed much compassion in their care.
