  • When I came to Winnipeg last May of 2011 , we were blessed to have stayed at her home. If I didn't get to se her go through her morning ritual of monitoring her BP and taking a special diet, I wouldn't have known of her condition. She's so cheerful and full of elan. I never heard her utter a word of complaint about pain or the inconvenience brought by her medical condition except for her child-like bickering for not being able to enjoy her meal the way she would have wanted it; imposed on her not willingly but mainly because her body couldn't take it. She never let it get in the way of embracing life and enjoy every moment with laughter, candor and love with family and friends. We cannot emphasize enough that her love of and faith in God is keeping her. It sustains her with strength and courage that any lesser mortal couldn't muster to go through such an ordeal from day to day. The mere thought that she's no longer with us in the physical form is agonizing and sorrowful but with it goes her pain and suffering and it consoles us with relief that her spirit lives on in everyone of us who was touched by her in one way or another through her celebration of life and and blessed by her radiance and faith. This is not the end of a journey, but just a stop-over on God's promise of eternal life in paradise. We love you and we shall miss you. Nanay, salamat! hanggang sa sunod nating pagkikita... - Posted by: Alvin Tan (friend) on: Mar 30, 2012
