GLADYS EVA HARDING Peacefully with her family by her side Gladys passed away on March 27 --- one month short of her 92nd birthday. She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Garry (Judy), Harry (Lavina), and Anne Barbara and her grandchildren: James, Robert (Britt), Michael (Andie), Christina (Ross), Devin, Sabrina plus four great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews especially her dear niece Marilyn. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Fred, brother Bill, sisters Violet and Pearl. Dad and Mom were married in 1946 after his return from the Second World War as a Hong Kong veteran and POW. They spent 52 wonderful years together. Mom loved gardening at their home in Charleswood and going to their cabins at Lac du Bonnet and later at Winnipeg Beach. Mom volunteered many years at Y Neighbours, the Charleswood Seniors Group, and the Charleswood Historical Society. Mom loved to travel with Dad and in later years with her sister Violet. Mom was very proud of her grandchildren's accomplishments and enjoyed attending their various activities. She was also an avid bingo player. Special thanks to nurses and staff on the 3rd floor of Pembina Place nursing home and especially to Kathleen, Hatice, Alice and Gwen. There is no formal service but a celebration of her life will be held at the Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Ave., Winnipeg (across from Brookside Cemetery) at 1:30 p.m. April 5, 2012.
