ANNA ALEXIOU On April 1, 2012 Anna Alexiou began her journey of eternal life. God granted her a peaceful passing and she will reunite with her beloved husband Athanasios and her daughter Alexandra. Our dear Mama and Yiayia will be deeply missed by sons George (Bente) and Dimitrios (Marilyn); her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, many relatives and friends, and our canine babies . Anna had a long and interesting life stretching from Cairo, Egypt to Lundar, Manitoba with Greece and Denmark in between. She made a loving home and legendary meals for family and friends no matter where she went or how little she had. Anna's deep faith gave her the strength to overcome much adversity and many people were touched by her prayers, sacrifice, caring and laughter. She will always be in our hearts and remembered for teaching us the true meaning of love. Thank you to everyone at E. M. Crowe Memorial Hospital in Eriksdale and I.R.H.A. home care for their kindness and professionalism. Donations to the hospital or St. Dimitrios Greek Orthodox Church would be appreciated. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 5 at St. Dimitrios Greek Orthodox Church, 2255 Grant Ave., Winnipeg with interment at Chapel Lawn Cemetery, 4000 Portage Ave. Reception to follow at the church.
