ALMA BERNICE KEENAN February 6, 1922 - February 9, 2012 With family by her side, Alma Bernice Keenan, our dear Auntie, passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2012, just three days after her 90th birthday in West Vancouver. Alma was born in Winnipeg, went to Kelvin High School and worked for Imperial Oil in Winnipeg for most of her career. She moved to West Vancouver six years ago to enjoy the warmer weather, friends and family, and the walks on the sea wall. Alma was the best sister, auntie and friend you could know and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Auntie Alma loved summers at the lake, travelling the world and more importantly any and all time with her family. She was a second mom to all of her nieces and nephews and a grandma to their children. The love, support and kindness she showed us all will live with us throughout our lives. Alma was the youngest of six children and was predeceased by her parents Catherine and William Keenan, her brother, Burr Keenan and four sisters, Mildred Joel, Geraldine Argue, Eileen Banville, Wilma Stewart and niece Darryl Reid. Auntie Alma leaves to mourn her nine nephews and nieces and their families: Scott Stewart, Court Joel, Harvelyn Richardson Leslie Bent, Alix Smith, Greg Joel, Brent Keenan, Moira Lucas and Alison Riddolls; her best friend Pearl Wickberg, and the many others whose lives she touched. Auntie Alma, we will miss you, but we are comforted to know you are reunited with your family. You made us all feel special and loved no matter what. A memorial service will be held in Winnipeg at Chapel Lawn, 4000 Portage Avenue on Saturday, April 14 at 2:00 p.m. with a reception to follow.
