ALVIN HERBERT PETERS Peacefully, with family at his side, Alvin Peters passed away at the Grace Hospice on Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at the age of 79. He is survived by his wife, Herta, children Marilyn (Werner Kliewer), Sylvia (Bob Ewert), Albert (Sabrina), Wilma (Mel Wiens), nine grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Alvin was born on October 5, 1932. He lived in the Mather area where he farmed and was a lay minister at the Mather Mennonite Church. In 1972, he and his family moved to Winnipeg where he worked at the Health Sciences Centre as an Operating Room Assistant and Supervisor until his retirement in 1995. He was active in church ministry throughout his life. The family would like to thank the staff at Riverview Health Centre and Grace Hospice for the loving care they provided during these last weeks. A funeral service will be held at Bethel Mennonite Church on Wednesday, April 11 at 11:00 a.m. with viewing before the service. In his memory, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba.
