Perry was a dear friend of my parents and myself and I am paying tribute to him in the book I am writing about my own life which includes a trip to Winnipeg in 1997 where Perry showed us around including the Fort Whyte Center which he was a significant benefactor to as he left 25% of his estate to them. 25% to National Public Broadcasting in Washington DC, 25% for scholarships for enabling disadvantaged students to attend the University of Manitoba, 25% to the Salvation Army in Winnipeg for he said the people that go night after night down to the Soup kitchens in minus 40 degree Celsius temperatures are far finer people than me so the least I can do is finance them as much as possible by maximising my legacy which he had grown 12X by the time we visited in 1997 following the sale of his Fork Lift Truck business in 1989. Incidentally he ran this business for 30 years and not one of his 30 staff ever resigned for he was such a fair boss. RIP Perry! - Posted by: Cliff Hegan (Longtime friend from UK) on: Sep 08, 2019

I only just learned of Mr Ross' passing. I knew him through my mother who was employed by Mr Ross and and his father. Mr Ross was always extremely kind to my mother and myself. I never knew him to say an unkind word about anyone. My experience and memory of him was that he was always a gentleman and lived as an example for others. - Posted by: Gary Weinheimer (Family Friend) on: Jun 17, 2013

When Mr. Ross was still driving, you could look forward to his friendly wave and toot of his horn as he passed by. He was so proud of the small tree at his front door that botanists came to marvel at as it should not have been able to be grown in Winnipeg. - Posted by: Deb Fast (Neighbour) on: Apr 26, 2012

Mr Ross had been a client of mine for years..He was truly a gentle man who showed nothing but respect for others...He was a self taught man who became quite worldly thanks to his extensive reading and traveling....It was a pleasure being his Travel Agent and friend.... - Posted by: Bev Harbour (Travel Agent) on: Apr 11, 2012
