DONALD FREDRICK KILBORNE
Born: Jan 02, 1943
Date of Passing: Apr 04, 2012
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDONALD FREDRICK KILBORNE Suddenly on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 Donald Fredrick Kilborne, son of Rueben and Anne Kilborne (Zazulak), passed away at age 69 years at Grace Hospital. Left to mourn: daughter Sandy (Michael), granddaughter Taylor, step-grandson Michael Jr., spouse Lillian, stepdaughter Sherri (Gavin) and stepson Kevin; brothers John (Barb), Peter (Helen), Maurice (Marilyn), David (Nancy), sisters Betty (Ed), Jean, and Cathy, and numerous nieces and nephews. Donald was born January 2, 1943 in Elkhorn, Manitoba. He lived and helped work on the family farm near Elkhorn till the family moved to Winnipeg in 1959. Donald was a hard-working, strong-minded man. He had a passion for the big rigs and drove semi locally and long hauling over the years. He spent the last 15 years driving for Westbrook Trucking and you could always see a big smile on his face when you saw him pull up in his truck, just like he was stepping in it for the first time. He enjoyed the outdoors hunting and fishing with family and friends and always had a story or two to tell about the big ones that got away. Over the years he battled heart problems and cancer but that didn't stop him from doing the things he loved. He had a great sense of humour and loved to play practical jokes on everyone. He loved his family and would always go the extra mile to help everyone out but his granddaughter he called boo boo stole his heart. A limb has fallen from the family tree. I keep hearing a voice that says, Grieve not for me. Remember the best times, the laughter, the song. The good life I lived while I was strong. Continue my heritage, I'm counting on you. Keep smiling and surely the sun will shine through. My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest. Remembering all, how I truly was blessed. Continue traditions, no matter how small. Go on with your life, don't worry about falls I miss you all dearly, so keep up your chin. Until the day comes we're together again Family would like to say a very special thanks to Darrell Westbrook and Westbrook Trucking and Dr. Sheldon Permack for the overwhelming amount of support during this time. Thanks to the staff on the third floor at the Grace Hospital for all their efforts. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Victoria Hospital Foundation, or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. A public viewing will take place on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow on Friday, April 13, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. also at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., Winnipeg. Chapel Lawn www.chapellawn.mb.ca 885-9715
