She is survived by her devoted husband Alvin of 24 years; her sister Joan Powell; nephews and nieces. Bonnie was predeceased by her parents George and Edith Stafford and sister Marilyn Powles. Bonnie attended Isaac Brock and Daniel McIntyre High School where she was an Honors student. She ran a leg on the championship school relay team and had leads in the Gilbert and Sullivan productions done by the school. Her talent and love of music continued as she joined choirs at Chalmers United, McClure United and St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church. She competed in the Wales Music Festival in 1957. In 1953 she was asked to join the Winnipeg Philharmonic Choir. Bonnie worked for MHRC for five years and later was employed by Great West Life for 35 years (25 years as Manager of meeting planning). Dear Bonnie, Alvin and family - What a loss to all who had the pleasure to have known and appreciated Bonnie's very presence and great talents. My sister Doreen was especially fond of Bonnie for her basic ingredients - true friendliness, honesty and goodness. I knew and worked at GWL where Bonnie was also recognized for the same character traits as well as conscientious attitude to her dedication to her work. We all loved our opportunity to have enjoyed the association with someone who was a true human being. She is now singing with the angels and may she rest in well deserved Peace. - Posted by: HAROLD McCORT (Friend) on: Apr 08, 2014

Bonnie; Her purity extended to her voice. As part of the quartette "The Belles" I recall us having a reunion at Rae & Jerry's restaurant, and having an impromptu performance of one of our old songs in the washroom, which was greeted by applause as we went back into the dining area. It was a wonderful time of life for us all. Wishing peace for Al and Joan - Posted by: Linda Strange (long-ago friend) on: Apr 14, 2012
