EDITH MAE DEMARCO (BUSH)
Date of Passing: Apr 08, 2012
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDITH MAE DEMARCO (nee BUSH) It is with deep sadness, but wonderful memories, that we announce the peaceful passing of mom on Sunday, April 8, 2012 at the Beausejour Hospital. The Bush family farm, outside of Beausejour, was the site of her birth in 1919 and also of her marriage to Julius DeMarco in 1941. They had four children: Dale (Janice), Janice (Ron Selch), Linden (Donna), and Shelley. Mom is also survived by six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Her sister Jean Cunningham, of Vancouver, is the only surviving sibling of nine children. Mom's first love was her family and she loved us all with an unfailing, unconditional, love. She enjoyed being outside in her yard and garden in the summer and liked to curl, knit, play cribbage and bingo. When Alzheimer's began to steal mom's memory and cause subtle changes in her personality, she continued to maintain her quick wit and sense of humour. We are a grateful family for having mom with us as long as we did, and also for the love and support shown to her and us by the Adult Day Care Program, Home Care, and the staff of the Primary Health Care Centre. A special thank-you goes to Dr. Daphne Schmidt. A Celebration of her Life will be held on Monday, April 16 at 11:00 a.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Ave. E., Beausejour. Cremation has taken place. Interment will follow in the Beausejour Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends and family so desire, donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba, 10-120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2. Edith will always hold a special place in my heart. I loved how she could pull your chain with such a straight face and then laugh like anything with you when you realized what she was doing. Yes...she loved you all very much and spoke of you often. Shelly, you deserve a crown. You gave so much. God comfort you all and etch her memory in your hearts. A part of her lives on in each of you. Celebrate a life well lived. - Posted by: Heather Godri (friend) on: Apr 16, 2012
