JAMES CORDEPAL With deep sadness we announce the passing of our Uncle - James Cordepal, of 97 years, on April 6, 2012 at the River East Personal Care Home. James was the beloved husband of the late Emeline Cordepal, whom he was married to for 69 years. James was absolutely in love with Emeline. The thought of Uncle Jimmy and Aunty Emma reunited in heaven, is what gives our family peace and strength through this sad and difficult time. James is survived by three generations of nieces and nephews in Winnipeg and Alberta. James was an extremely gifted, self-taught musician. Music was his life and passion. James played the bass fiddle, tuba, violin, guitar and trumpet, just to name a few. James was a musician in the Royal Canadian Air Force Central Band during the 1940's. James also played music at various nightclubs throughout Winnipeg. In the 1960's he appeared regularly on a CBC series- A Song For You. James played and worked for the Winnipeg Hymn Sing Choir and had a career with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, from which he retired in the early 1990's. His family loved to watch him play his beautiful music and were so proud of him. Uncle Jimmy had a green thumb and loved to garden in his yard on Frasers Grove, where he and Aunty Emma lived for most of their 69 years together. The best word to describe Uncle Jimmy is classy , and he demonstrated his class everyday towards his wife, family, neighbours and friends. James was by far, the sweetest and kindest man, who will be forever missed and never forgotten. Our family would like to thank the staff at the River East Personal Care Home who took such good care of James. A service will be held for James on Friday, April 13, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Our family has requested in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in James's memory to the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra or the Winnipeg Humane Society. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
