Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • It is with a great deal of fondness that I remember Mrs. Weind. She was my Grade 1/2 teacher at Margaret Scott School. She was a remarkable teacher. She encouraged me rather than discouraged me when I responded to Grade 2 questions while still in grade 1! She kept a story I wrote in Grade 1 about the blizzard of '66. She gave it to me many years later and I have it to this day. When I graduated from high school (the ceremony was at the Lutheran church), she recognized my name AND SENT ME FLOWERS!. I have kept that vase to this day as well. She was one of "those" teachers who impacted my life. Now that I am a teacher, I can only hope that I can emulate her and thus keep her legacy alive. Yours very sincerely and with sympathy on the loss of someone so special, Marianne Wojtas Staub - Posted by: Marianne Wojtas Staub (former student) on: Apr 28, 2012

  • The staff of The Convalescent Home was truly blessed to be a part of the life of such a wonderful, kind and caring lady. Reflecting on her years with us...I believe she may have taken better care of the residents and staff than we did of her. We were moved by the time, love and laughter Delila shared with her children and family. She was certainly loved. Delila was an angel among us, and now an angel looking out for us. • David, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family this week while you are away for this time of remembrance of the life of your mother. May you be comforted in knowing she lived a life faithful to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. - Posted by: Carol & Ross Bailey (friends ) on: Apr 25, 2012

  • David, Rick, Kay and Rosemary - Yes, the passing of our Mother is our loss, but they each are in such a better place. God best put in another phone jack, as the sister hot line will be buzzing...We will be thinking of you as you celebrate Aunt Delilah's life. Hugs to all - Ernie and Marliss - Posted by: Ernie and Marliss Smith () on: Apr 24, 2012

  • My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time. She was a wonderful lady and dear friend to our family. May the memories that you share carry you through this adjustment period. It is never easy but knowing that she is with her Father in heaven I pray will bring you comfort. May your faith and knowing that others share in your loss and are praying for you give you strength and peace. May your mourning turn into dancing. With deepest respect and love always. - Posted by: Lori Rahn (Ruff) (Family Friend) on: Apr 24, 2012
