GISELE VINCENT-PAGE Peacefully with family by her side, Gisele Vincent-Page passed away at St. Boniface Hospital on April 22, 2012 at the age of 54. She was predeceased by her husband John Page, her Parents Gabriel and Celina Vincent (Nee Nault), her brother Arthur Vincent, her sister-in-law Deborah Clarkson, and mother-in- law Solange Page. She will be remembered by her children Joelle Page, Yves Page and Guy Page (Amber). And by her brothers Roger Vincent (Michelle), Gilbert Vincent (Nancy), Dennis Vincent (Peggy), and sister-in-law Sylvia. Her nieces and nephews, Eugene Vincent (Sylvana), Robert Vincent (Richard), Pam Church (Wes), Chris Vincent (Tracey), Renee Leithead (Calvin, Fiona, Amy), and baby Emma Rae Vincent. In-Laws Brian Page, Bob, Linda, Justin, Kristin Page, Travis Clarkson (Angela, Logan, Tyler), Mike, Jennifer and Michael Clarkson. Mom studied dramatic arts and was an educator in the WSD for almost 20 years. While having travelled to Hawaii and all over western Canada, Winnipeg always remained home. Mom loved her dogs, Sheeba, and rescuing various other companions, especially her feisty Muffin, who was always by her side. The beach, the waves, the sun and being at the Lake, was where Mom felt best, and managed to scribe her life story into a memoire, Strolling Down Heavens Gate. Mom lived with HIV for 27 years, spending most of her life, drug free, and felt living life was her mission. Raised Catholic, Mom broadened her scope and opened herself to Buddhism and exploring her spirituality. Mom loved painting, coffee, good food, and bringing her family together for a night of chatting and laughing. She will always be remembered for her good heart, generous nature, and incredible spirit. Having felt her destiny was to spread her message of truth and love, her message will live on in her book, with her children, and everyone she met. Our family would like to thank all the fantastic people who have helped Mom over the last many years. Walter and Diane, Garry and Robert, Annick and Fred and countless other good friends. And all the generous Health care providers at St. Boniface Hospital, Riverview Health Care Centre, and at Winnipeg Beach. A service to celebrate Mom's life will be held on April 28 at 10:00 a.m. at Thomson Funeral Home, at 669 Broadway. All are welcome. Internment for immediate family to follow at Green Acres. In lieu of flowers, Mom requested donations be made to Nine Circles Community Health Centre. I shall not die of a cold. I shall die of having lived. - Willa Cather GREEN ACRES Funeral Home and Cemetery (204) 222-3241 Condolences may be sent to www.greenacresfuneralhome.com

Condolences & Memories (8 entries)

  • I Just found out about Gisele's passing today and I find words hard to come by. I met Gisele while staying with my Mom at Riverview and I cherish the time we had together. I will always remember Gisele outside waving to me as she'd say Debbie my friend come sit down and talk. There's not enough good to say about Gisele and her Wonderful family. They will stay in my heart forever, though I know her family suffers terribly at this time. I know Gisele is at Peace now and I will never forget you my Dear Friend. Thank you for the wonderful times my friend and fly in peace, Giselle I will miss you <3 - Posted by: Debbie Lauzon (Friend) on: Sep 12, 2012

  • I met Giselle while my gramma was in river view. My gramma passed away in 2010. My mom was also a great friend of hers while she visited her mom. While I have only met her a few times she was so full of life and love to tell her life story in hopes that it would change the people she had met. She was definitely a surviver she was so full of life and she will sadly be missed. - Posted by: Amanda (Friend) on: Sep 11, 2012

  • Gisele and I never met in person. I am a friend of Gisele's who lives in Townsville Australia. We corresponded by e-mail in recent years, and she kindly sent me a copy of "Strolling Down Heaven's Gate," which she inscribed "To Michael, my new dear friend". I have just found out that she has passed away. I had accepted a poem of hers in March for my on-line journal, and it will be published on July 4, 2012 at 7 pm Pacific Daylight Time. If the family wish me to provide copies of our e-mail correspondence, I will be happy to do so. Rest In Peace Gisele. God bless you as you rest with Him, and my sincere condolences to her loved ones at this time. - Posted by: M (Friend, editor The South Townsville micro poetry journal) on: Jul 02, 2012

  • I felt a strong connection to this incredible lady the moment I met her over 20 years ago. I would often stroll down the back lane for coffee and we quickly became friends. We seemed to find humour in the everyday and ordinary events that happened in our neighbourhood. This led to co-writing a column that appeared in the Riverview Reflector called "Coffee Klatch". We would laugh until we cried. Although our family left Winnipeg in 1999, we have always remained in touch. Gisele will forever remain in my heart. My love and thoughts go out to Yves, Joelle, Guy & Amber and to all of her family and friends at this very sad time. Love you Giz! - Posted by: Cindy Mamchur (A good friend) on: Apr 26, 2012

  • I met Gisele in 1970, as a feisty and smart teenager. She always knew what she wanted in life and she lived life to the fullest. She loved poetry, and I was thrilled to receive her thoughts in a book. I will always treasure it, and meet you in Heaven's gate, Love Sylvia Vincent - Posted by: sylvia vincent (sisternlaw) on: Apr 26, 2012

  • Gisele and I spent our entire primary and secondary school life together at Ecole Precieux Sang. We were best of friends for years. Our lives separated in adulthood only connecting once in the last 20 years. However, she remained dear and special to me all my life; I never forgot her and thought of her often...each and every birthday as our birth dates are close and we are the same age. My condolences to you, her family. Marianne Nolin (nee Druwe). - Posted by: Marianne Nolin (nee Druwe) (friend) on: Apr 25, 2012
