PETER DICK Peter Dick of Lindenwood Manor, formerly of Glenlea and La Salle, passed away peacefully at the Victoria Hospital on April 23, 2012. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Herta (Friesen); children Lori (Gary) Friesen, David (Angie) Dick, Lynette (Don) Wiens; grandchildren Matthew, Ryan and Jarrett Friesen, Ashley, Braedon and Scott Dick, Lauren, Haley and Jessie Wiens; sister Margaret Wiens and many relatives and friends. Peter was predeceased by his parents David and Margaret Dick; his brother Johnny; and his uncle Peter Neufeld. Peter was born in Glenlea, Manitoba on March 1, 1926. He was baptized upon his confession of faith on June 8, 1947 in the Glenlea Mennonite Church. Peter married his loving wife Herta on October 13, 1956. They farmed together at Glenlea until their retirement in 1998. During their years on the farm, Peter and Herta raised their children, enjoyed gardening, yard work and planting trees. Peter's hobbies included reading and woodworking. He took great interest in the lives of the people around him. Peter served his church in a variety of ways, with his role as usher being the one he will be best remembered for. Peter's family would like to thank the staff on the fourth floor (south) of the Victoria General Hospital for the wonderful care provided to Peter in his final weeks. Funeral service will be held on Friday, April 27, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Glenlea Mennonite Church, Glenlea, Manitoba, with interment to follow in the Glenlea Cemetery. Viewing will be held at the church on Thursday, April 26, from 7:00 8:00 p.m. and again at the church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, ON 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, R3E 0V9. The Lord is My Shepherd.

The truck drives down the Bartmanovich drive way and there is Pete slowly walking across the farm yard and stopping for a chat.
