As I was bilking towards Susan's store on my way home from school, I saw Susan standing on the sidewalk. I stopped to talk with her and she told me of Walter's passing. Although Walter is now with my Mom and many others in heaven, I am still very saddened by his passing. I (Greg) was the first baby Walter baptised. I have many fond memories of singing in the church choir, participating in TYROS and having much fun on the farm with the Cowan children. Hannah (my mom) always lived by Christian values and taught her children to do the same. My sister Karen and I would like to extend our heatfelt symnpathy. May you always cherish your beautiful memories of Walter! - Posted by: Greg and Karen Markusson (Friend) on: May 22, 2012

Walter was the first minister in my new life in Winnipeg. I found him very welcoming. He was a kind man. In Banff, my husband was encouraged by Walter to go up a mountain in the gondala. Ev, terribly afraid of heights, said "well if the minister is going, I guess I can go too." Walter and June were a wonderful couple to their congregation at Windsor Park United. We will remember him and miss him. - Posted by: Helen Smallwood (friend) on: May 10, 2012

Dear June and family, I am truly saddened to learn about Walter's passing. He was a dedicated Christian preacher, teacher and gentleman. I am confident he is now adding his fine voice to a heavenly chorus, perhaps being led by a choir director named Bill! Many memories at this time, especially 43 years ago when Walter married us and also when we attended a service while we were visiting in Winnipeg. What a wonderful person Walter was.
