PETER A. BOSLOVITCH May 7, 1947 - May 7, 2012 It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Peter. Left to forever cherish his memory are his best friend and partner Barb, who will miss him dearly; his son Michael (Sylvia); grandchildren Nicole and Noah; his sister Karen (Bill); niece Amie (Chris) and nephew Peter; his close cousin Janice (Bill) and her family; numerous relatives and a multitude of great, caring friends. He leaves us with fond memories and many funny stories that will forever bring a smile on our faces. Peter loved telling stories and always had a good one to tell. From a young teenager through to the end, his life revolved around the drag racing circuit and #5749 will be respectfully and admirably remembered by those who knew him through racing. Peter also leaves many friends through the Amateur Ham Radio Club. VE4STK will be fondly remembered. Peter loved life and lived it to the fullest. He enjoyed meeting new people, reminiscing with old friends, or laughing about the things they had done. Nothing could be better than a great race day at the track whether it was at the Viking International Raceway (Gimli), Alberta, British Columbia or somewhere in the U.S. Unfortunately during these past four years, his illness caused him many setbacks, but he always kept a positive attitude and with a smile on his face would say just another hurdle . Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 12, 2012 at 3:30 p.m. at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens, 4477 Main Street, Winnipeg. Friends and family will meet at Glen Eden Funeral Home at 3:15 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Peter's memory to The Children's Wish Foundation, 350 St. Mary Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3C 3J2, 1-800-267-9474. His passing has left a huge void in the lives of those who knew him. He will always be fondly remembered and forever loved. GOD SPEED Glen Eden Funeral Home 338-7111 www.gleneden-mb.ca

Condolences & Memories (10 entries)

  • Pete was my friend back in the day with the Timers Carclub and I spoke to him frequently before his passing. We shared the common interest drag racing, racing a g body and in the early days a 55. Pete could really shift a four speed. So long old friend............Bucky - Posted by: Dave Collins (friend) on: May 15, 2012

  • Many good times with Sneaky Pete from Timers days. 55 Chevys and drag racing - Posted by: Dave Collins (drag racing car clubs old times) on: May 14, 2012

  • BARB-we wish to expres our deepest sympathy for your loss. Pete will always be remembered as one to express his opinion and tell how it is. During our time at the track, Pete, Walter, & Johnny were like the 3 Amigo's, never a dull moment. 5749 will be missed by all that knew him - Posted by: Sandra, Kevin & Keith Kanski (friend, fellow racers) on: May 12, 2012

  • Sorry to hear of Pete's passing. I first met Pete at the Timers Car Club and was very impressed with his drag racing brain. We all knew him back then as "Sneaky Pete". He was pretty close to the vest with what he knew about racing and what it took to be the best. At one time I am pretty sure Pete held a National Record in his class. My sincerest sympathies to the family and friends. Leaving this earth at 64 is far too soon. Rest in peace old friend and I am sure I'll see you again on the Drag Strip up there. - Posted by: Wade Christensen (Friend) on: May 11, 2012

  • I have gotten so old that I can't remember when I first met PETER. It was definitely at a drag strip and he was racing a 66 CHEVY wagon in R/SA. When we spoke he finished all his sentences with EH ??. I found that quite peculiar but was told that it was a CANADIAN thing. LOL !!! Over the years we shared many stories and conversations and I was sooo surprised to run into PETER at PHOENIX, AZ a few years ago.I knew that he was battling health issues as fiercely as he competed at the drag strip. GODSPEED my friend....EH?????........M.J. QUINN - Posted by: M. J. QUINN (RACER ) on: May 10, 2012

  • Pete was one of the Drag City originals. He was involved with every aspect of racing and was part of many of the racing plots that defined the sport in Manitoba and the US. He had a very insightful view of racing and had a truly analytical mind. He was a master of the science of drag racing. Our condolences to the family and rest assured that Pete will be missed by everyone who had contact with him. He leaves a big empty spot in the "staging lanes". "8000 rpm through the lights, engine singing like Guy Lombardo." - Posted by: Allan Tucker (friend) on: May 10, 2012

  • Always enjoyed Pete at the track. He was a gentleman with all who raced against him. - Posted by: Norm Shaw (Racing Friend) on: May 10, 2012

  • Peter was a great friend and dedicated racer, had the opportunity to learn from one of the best. He will be greatly missed. Godspeed my friend. - Posted by: john sien (friend) on: May 10, 2012
