Born: Sep 06, 1934
Date of Passing: May 10, 2012
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFRANCES IRENE ELIZABETH KEHLER (nee WEARE) (formerly SHIPMAN) September 6, 1934 - May 10, 2012 It is with great sadness we share the sudden passing of our mother, sister, grandmother, and aunt on May 10, 2012 at home, at the age of 77, with her faithful companion Sadie by her side. Fran was predeceased by her parents Gilbert and Winifred Weare, brothers Ted and Ronald Weare, sister Joy Lynch, and husband Eugene Kehler. She leaves to mourn her son David Shipman (Bonnie), daughter Dawn Shipman (Harold), son Dale Shipman (Linda) and grandchildren: Ryan, Branden (Courtney), Quinnlynn, Spencer, Hannah, Megan and Michael as well as her brother Glen Weare, sister Cindy Burch, and many nieces and nephews. Mom was born in Dryden, Ontario, and grew up in northwestern Ontario. She married Wilfred Shipman and moved to Winnipeg in 1953 and raised her family in homes in East Kildonan, the North End, and Transcona. She was a stay at home mom until the kids were school age, and then worked in retail sales at Gambles and Woolco for a few years. She then turned to working as a bank teller for CIBC at various branches until retirement in her mid-60s. Mom was very involved with her church and developed many long lasting friendships over the years at the St. Thomas Anglican Church. She enjoyed puttering in her yard and joining friends for lunch. She was forever a dog lover, loving many rescued dogs over her lifetime, with her beloved Sadie left to mourn her passing. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Fran's name to the pet shelter of your choice. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at St. Thomas Anglican Church, 1567 William Ave. W. on Friday, May 18, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Chapel Lawn www.chapellawn.mb.ca 885-9715
