DAVID ARTHUR HORNICK Dave passed away peacefully on April 4, 2012. Dave was born April 6, 1930 and lived his entire life at St. Martin and Davis Point. He is predeceased by his parents Elmer and Edith Hornick; his brothers Fred and Donald and his sisters Eileen Irwin, Margaret McInnis, Violet Irwin, Olive Michaniuk and Elsie Batten. He is also predeceased by his brothers-in-law Frank Irwin, Ernest McInnis, Thomas Irwin, John Michaniuk and Bill Dyer. Dave is survived by his brother Les and Setsuko, his sister Shirley Dyer and brother-in-law Jim Batten along with many nieces and nephews. Dave is also survived by his special friend Dorothy Rawluk. Dave loved to travel and drove to Arizona to spend time with Les. Dave and Dorothy recently travelled to Alaska, Branson and Minot. They both loved old time music and dancing and attended many old time dances down the No. 6 Highway. In his younger years he sold and repaired TV's, operated a Cat and scraper on the construction of the Winnipeg bypass, drove transfer for Bill Shabaga and then worked at CFS Radar Base Gypsumville until it closed. Dave loved the outdoors and spent much of his time snowmobiling, fishing and hunting. He loved to watch the deer in his feeders by the window. It was very seldom he missed attending the Austin Thresherman's Reunion. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on May 19, 2012 at the St. Martin Hall with Father Ron McCullough officiating. Interment to follow in the St. George's Anglican church yard cemetery, Davis Point, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. George's Anglican Church c/o Ruby Hladun, General Delivery, Fairford, MB R0C 0X0.
